Fall Family Pictures

Hey Everyone... I just thought I'd add some pictures from the last month. It's been a great fall.

Mikey's first haircut without crying! He did such a great job.

We went to a corn maze last weekend. We had a great time. There was a hay bale mountain that Mikey loved climbing.

26.2 miles later...

Sunday was such a hard day for me. After training for four months, I ran the Detroit Marathon. It took me 5 hours and 35 minutes. The first half was very exciting! We ran over the USA-Canada bridge, and then back through the tunnel. At the half way mark, my spirits got a little low. I pushed though it though thanks to some energy gel (yuck), lots of Gatorade, and prayer. The last two miles were killer. My knee was so tight and hurt really bad. I wanted to stop and just walk the rest of it. Thank goodness my sweet husband kept sending me positive texts, encouraging me to push through the pain and finish strong. I am not sure I will run another marathon, and I am really not sure my knees will even allow me to try...but I am glad I did it. I still cannot believe I did it. There was a poster there that said: "The pride will far outlast the pain." I will keep you posted on that...

FINALLY, Charlise went to Disneyland!!! (Don't tell the boys)

I can't figure out why my messages have been messing up! ANYWAY, we had GREAT time hanging with Grammy, Jamie, Matt, London & Zac at Disneyland!!! Charlise and I were both in awe of everything! We had fantastic time!!! Can't you guys all live a little closer!?

Bought belly-dancing skirts at the Renaissance Festival in Vegas. There were some CRAZY people there! Darius complained the entire time about the heat and the crowd. Special.


We went to the BYU-UNLV football game. BYU crushed them. We had a great time - ate way too much Kettle Korn, though.


What would a trip to Tracy and Jason's be without smore's in the backyard!! We love them!!!!

We made it to the apple orchard, check...got that off the list. My friend had this brilliant idea to go on a sunny Saturday...not so smart since everyone else in Livingston County had that same idea also. We waited 15 minutes in line for an apple bag, and then had to wait for at least 15 more minutes to get some hot cider & donuts. Nothing beats warm, fresh out the oven, apple cinnamon sugar donuts. Well worth the calories! Luckily, there wasn't a wait to get on the tractor to pick apples, so off we went. Oh, how fun it was holding Marley against her will as she tried to shimmy out of my grasp so she could run free on the tractor. Uuughhhh. I cannot wait for this stage to be over! Here are the memories we captured...

Last of all, we tried a recipie for pumpkin flavored playdoh! It was so fun & smells so yummy! We didn't have the right color of food coloring for the orange (dangit), so it is a funky green color. Oh well, the kids love it still!

Pumpkin Playdoh:
5 1/2 c flour
2 c salt
8 tsp of cream of tartar
3/4 c oil
1 container (1 1/12 oz) of pumpkin pie spice
orange food coloring (red mixed with yellow)
4 c water
...mix all together, and heat on stove on medium heat until it thickens
