Katie behind the wheel at 16... weeks old

Katie had a well visit today. Katie's tipping the scales at a whopping 11lbs 7oz... the 10th percentile. She's been steadily growing on that curve - tiny girl - so that's a good thing. We're going to take her to physical therapy to help strengthen her torso and neck muscles, and that will hopefully take care of her flat head.

New Animal in the Hizouse!

We have a new addition to the already chirping household here.  While Jason was mowing the lawn, he almost ran over a baby bird.  He couldn't find a nest to put it back in, so guess what... we are taking care of it now.  And we, as in ME, are taking care of it.  So we leave this baby in a box in the laundry room and feed it about every 30 minutes.  We feed her meal worms and boiled egg.  She is pretty cute.  Jason and Ross were in Utah this past weekend, so Jasmine and I took care of baby bird over the holiday weekend.  Now she can jump out of her cage and will come to our feet with her mouth wide open wanting food.  Then at night, we put a window screen over her box and turn the lights out and she sleeps until the sun comes up.  So funny!  I clean up the bird poop all over the place every night, but it is kind of fun.  Yeah, I said it.  Love you all, T

Just a side note.  When we were staying at Shelby's house, I needed to iron my shirt.  So I went in the closet to get out......THE UNTOUCHED.  I pulled out an ironing board that was broken.  I tried a number of times to get it to stand up, but no luck.  Then I pulled out THE UNTOUCHED iron.  All kinds of things were coming out of the steam holes when I tried to iron with it.  I had to lay the board on the bed and try to iron from that point.  Then Charlise came in while I was doing that and was wondering what in the heck Aunti Tracy was doing....since she never sees any of that going on at her house!  hahahaha....love you Shelby

Travel fun

It will be a miracle if I ever figure out how to put the right words next to pictures in this thing.  Jazz and I had such a great time visiting the Matsudas.  We went there right after Jasmine had her performance in Disneyland with her school choir.  She did great!  Then after two days with Shelby's family, I took Jasmine down to San Diego to drop her off with her Jr. High class for their class trip that week.  She had a great time there too!  Meanwhile I stayed at Shelby's while I tried to get over some nasty flu bug that tried to kill me.  But while at Shelby's, I had such a great time being there with her and Jarom and the kids.  We had a blast at a Japanese festival on Saturday and saw hula dancers and let the kids play games.  Also got to go to an AMAZING Japanese restaraunt Saturday night with Jarom and Shelby.  Thanks so much for such a great time!  I was actually very happy to have gotten sick and been able to stay with them for three extra days!

When Tracy comes to visit, my pocket book is a little emptier, but my clothes are always WAY cuter!!! Thanks for the makeover!!! (I'm still mad about throwing out that black vest/sweater from the 90's. . . hmmmm)
My floors are vacuumed MUCH more frequently when Tracy visits. Wait, can you just move here permanently!?

time goes by too FAST

How can you not love Alie's last diary post.  Here are some more pics of everyone being here.  I so miss you all, especially Joni and the kids who didn't come.  You HAVE to come next time.  My house is really clean but so SADLY quiet.  I would take messy house ANY day.  Jason loved having some kids around that actually were excited to ride on the fire trucks and play on the quads!  

London couldn't stop following Ross around and Jasy wondered why, why, why London would pick him over her. True love, what else.  

Uncle Matt talked Ross into cutting up the onions for the salsa that was soooooooo good!

Vegas or Bust

Dear Diary,
(Monday, April 27)It is almost midnight, and we fly out of Detroit at 7am to Vegas. I should be asleep, but am still packing and waiting for Matt's favorite jeans to dry. Marley is crying...wonder why.

Dear Diary,
(Tuesday, April 28) Well, today sucked. Marley was crying last night because she had thrown up. Not a good start to my vacation. So, finally around 2am, I got her back to bed after we had cleaned up her puke twice. We prayed extra hard that she would be ok on the plane. Matt & I only got 2 hours of sleep...which is not good when we have to keep 2 kids happy on a 4 hour flight. Thank goodness Marley was exhausted, and slept for over half of the flight. When we landed she was screaming her head off, and continued to do so until we exited the plane. Lots of fun. Screw all the idiots who kept looking at me...if I could make her stop I would! She saved her throw up for me at the car rental agency. Awesome. Better than on the plane I guess. In-N-Out Burger is closed when we drive by since it is only 9 am Vegas time. Dangit. That would have made me feel much better! I hope the kids do ok.

Dear Diary,
(Wednesday, April 29) Well, last night sucked also. Ky threw up twice in his bed, and was sleeping in it when I checked on him. Awesome. Marley still can't keep down water either. It is really sad to hear her say "more," when she wants water, and I have to tell her no. Plus, she is pulling at her ears. That would be great if she had an earache to top it all off! Now my throat hurts really, really bad! Jamie and family are suppose to come tomorrow if my germs don't scare them away.

Dear Diary,
(Thursday, April 30) No puke last night. Ky seems better. He has a runny nose & a cough though. Marley is still miserable, but no more chuck. Took her to this clinic we found, and $100 later we had an earache diagnosis and a bottle of zythromax. Hopefully this will help her. She can finally keep down water, and so I gave her Tylenol to help her fever. Relief at last!? Jamie is here! This is the first time I have seen my nephew Zac. Her kids are beautiful and so so funny! Ky is so happy that his cousins are here to play with him. Jason took Ky on the firetrucks, and on the 4wheelers. Jasmine & Ross play so well with their younger cousins! Jamie, Ky, & I went to Jasmine (and Tracy's) school play. So fun. We got ignored by Jasy cause her friends were around (guess we aren't cool any more), but it was exciting to see the end result of all their hard work! We are pumped to see Shelby & her family tomorrow!

Dear Diary,
(Friday, May 1) I am exhausted. Taking care of sick kids is no fun. Plus, my throat hurts pretty bad, so it is hard to get a good nights rest. I don't think I can carry Marley around one more minute. Today was a breakdown day for me, lots of tears...wish I had a beer. I got to sneak out for a dinner at CPK with Jamie & Jasy. Wonderful. We also shopped around at the gigantic H&M...love that store. Four Diet Cokes and a ton of laughter later, I am feeling a lot better! Shelby arrived, but her kids are asleep when I get home. Tomorrow will be better!

(Saturday, May 2) Today is better! All of the cousins (except for Joni's kids) are here and playing. The girls woke up early for a Race for the Cure 5K. I am still sick, so planned on walking it. But Ky took off running, in his flip flops, so I had to run after him for the first half of the race. He was really fast! Then he got tired, so I made Jasy sprint the last half with me while he rested in the stroller. London thought the race was lame. Thank goodness we had fruit snacks and an IPod to keep her busy. After the race, we fueled up on McDonalds breakfast...yummmy! We pigged out (except for Tracy & her diet coke...but that is another story). After the boys went out to shoot their guns, we hung out in the backyard & swam in the pool...this is what I like about Vegas. Marley is feeling a little better, thank goodness.

(Sunday, May 3) It was a low key Sunday. After church, we had a BBQ for Jarom's b-day. Lots of good food & fun in the sun. I love my family...all of them! :) No relief on my throat yet.

(Monday, May 4) We all ventured out to the M&M factory on the strip. It was pretty fun. Marley has warmed up to Tracy, and even let her hold her the whole time. Finally, a break for me. Shelby and her peeps left after lunch :(

(Tuesday, May 5) Jamie and family took off today. So sad to see everyone leave. I need to live out here! Jason gave Matt & I a hook up to the Foundation Room (restaurant) on top of the Mandalay Bay. The view alone was worth it. It was super fancy, but so fun. I had a $45 steak. I am so cheap, so that just blows me away. Our end bill was $130. Yikes, thank goodness for the comps! It was nice to live that life, if just for a few hours! Tomorrow we leave, and I am not ready to go. Marley is feeling better, and ready to play...but all her playmates have left. This vacation has been a ton of work! I should extend my trip...

Dear Diary,

(Wednesday, May 6) The plane ride wasn't too bad. Both kids were pretty tired. I had to hold Marley for 3 hours at the back of the plane. I didn't mind, as long as she wasn't screaming. Matt took over at the end, and then she fell asleep right before we landed (of course). Thank goodness there was another kid on the plane who was very naughty, so people were impressed with how "good" our kids were. Funny. I love Vegas. More so, I love being around my sisters. I am so blessed to have such a close relationship with all of them...even my sister-in-laws. Life is too short to live so far away from them!
